Big “thank you” to Dal 3, Trey & Tracey for making the sandwiches, Dallam making drinks, Kaylee on the cookies. Dal on the fruit and Mrs. Richards and Jay packing things up . . . awesome job all! We had a small crew this week (all named above) and didn’t have has many guys as usual show up. There’s supposed to be a Loaves and Fishes BBQ next week, so may not have as many either. Got everyone fed in record time, then we went to drop off groceries at Jack’s old camp for Gary and Ernie . . . was sad/happy Jack not there . . . miss his great humor, but so glad he’s near family. Had a little excitement too . . . while feeding I noticed a black car just sitting on an adjacent corner watching us. When we went across the street he moved to City Hall parking lot where he could still see us. Then when we left there, he followed us onto the highway and then exited at Fairfield . . . just had one of those ‘hair stand up on the back of my neck’ moments. Mrs. Richards said it could be an undercover cop just checking us out . . . just want you to all be aware of your surroundings!
Have a blessed week . . . Happy Mother’s Day to the moms and remember your moms to the rest of you!–Angela
Last Saturday, June 19th was a smashing success. With God as her pilot, Jenny was able to get special permission to use tables and chairs…..so it was more like a “sit down” family meal; and we know God touched the hearts of all who participated.
This past Saturday, June 26th we fed our guests sandwiches and Michelle made sure we had some supplies to share. The demand (needs) very much outpace the supply.
Sneakers, men’s, sizes 9-13, including all the half sizes are in extraordinary demand. We need size 10 1/2 boots for Joel who is trying to survive by working as many hours as the bosses will let him, with landscaping work. The work is “off and on” and Joel is not singing the blues or panhandling……..he needs a hand up, rather than a hand out.
We need your prayers, material donations (a tax receipt is available if requested), BICYCLES, socks, hygiene items (the little ones from hotel stays are perfectly sized), etc. Monetary donations are always appreciated with 100% pass thru to the needy in our inner city; checks made out to FUMC Pace Buckets of Love, Attention: Jenny, 4540 Chumuckla Hwy, Pace, FL 32571.
Thanks to all, and we pray God’s continual blessings over you. JMS
